MONCTON, NB, May 12, 2016 /CNW Telbec/ - Circle K has answered the Canadian Red Cross appeal for help by putting in place a system in all its stores across Maritimes Provinces and Newfoundland enabling customers to effortlessly make a donation of 1 $ or more with their transaction. Circle K guarantees that 100 % of all donations will be given to the Canadian Red Cross to support relief efforts in Northern Alberta.
Circle K parent company Alimentation Couche-Tard has announced that it will match all customer donations up to CAD$150,000.
Additionally, Founder and Executive Chairman of the Board of Directors of Couche-Tard Alain Bouchard and his wife Sandra Bouchard are making a CAD$300,000 donation from their private foundation.
Circle K is saddened by this catastrophe that has affected an entire community and hopes that its contribution will assist in the collective efforts already set up to support those affected by this disaster and to quickly rebuild communities in Fort McMurray and its surroundings.
The donation campaign has been ongoing since May 7.
