CIRI Announces New Board Appointment

TORONTO, Nov. 22 /CNW/ - The Canadian Investor Relations Institute (CIRI) today announced the appointment of Viki Lazaris to the CIRI National Board of Directors. Viki is the Senior Vice President, Investor Relations, at BMO Financial Group. 

"We are pleased to welcome Viki to our Board," said David Carey, Chair, CIRI National Board.  "She has been a CIRI member for more than 10 years and brings extensive financial expertise to the Board.  She will be a valuable asset in helping CIRI further its mandate to contribute to the integrity of Canadian capital markets and advance the practice of investor relations."

Ms. Lazaris joined BMO in 2001 as Director of Financial Performance Management. The following year, she assumed her first executive position with her promotion to Vice President of Financial Performance Management.   In 2003, Ms. Lazaris was appointed Vice President and Chief Financial Officer of Personal & Commercial Canada, and then in 2006, she was promoted to her current position, Senior Vice-President, Investor Relations.

Prior to joining BMO, she held various senior finance positions at companies including Maxxcom Inc., Wyeth Canada Inc. and what is now Rogers Communications. Viki earned a BA from the University of Toronto and has a CA designation.

Viki has been a CIRI member for more than 10 years and a National Investor Relations Institute (NIRI) member since 2006.  She has also served on the Canadian Institute of Chartered Accountants (CICA) Corporate Performance Reporting Board.
