MERX chosen for its extensive technology, operational and change management expertise servicing the public sector and the vendors they do business with
OTTAWA, June 16, 2015 /CNW/ - MERX Networks Inc. ("MERX"), a subsidiary of Mediagrif Interactive Technologies Inc. (TSX: MDF), today announced it has been awarded a contract to implement MERX as the Electronic Tendering System ("ETS") solution to the City of Ottawa. MERX will fulfill the City's two year e-procurement pilot project to automate the bid solicitation process for request for quotations valued up to $100,000. Through a competitive review process MERX demonstrated the capacity to realize the City's current and future plans for e-procurement.
The City's vision for e-procurement includes a cloud based ETS solution that manages requests for tenders, requests for proposals and requests for standing offers, price quotes, proposal evaluations, workflow, approvals, electronic bonding, standing offer management, vendor rotation, vendor performance management and procure-to-pay.
"We are proud to partner with the City of Ottawa," said Jean-Michel Stam, President of MERX. "Ottawa joins a growing number of municipalities and public sector buying organizations across Canada using MERX as a critical component of their e-procurement and strategic sourcing framework."
The City will use MERX in the e-procurement pilot project to drive operational improvements in the Supply Branch and increase awareness of supply opportunities in the vendor community by providing a convenient, affordable, fair and open means of submitting bids.
As a strategic sourcing platform anchored by electronic tendering, MERX is synonymous with open, fair and transparent and; as such, has become the preferred destination for vendors looking to do business with the public sector in Canada. MERX uses a stable and proven SaaS hosting model that ensures security, scalability and performance.
"The synergies between our long term plans, the MERX service offering, and their track record helping vendors find and pursue opportunities is compelling," said Jeff Byrne, Chief Procurement Officer, City of Ottawa. "Furthermore, their technical, operational and change management expertise in the management of public tendering for municipalities of all sizes significantly ensures project success."
