City of Toronto hosts the third annual International Students Festival
TORONTO, Sept. 27, 2014 /CNW/ - Today, the City of Toronto and its presenting sponsor the Greater Toronto Airports Authority (GTAA) hosted the third annual International Students Festival at David Pecaut Square in Toronto.
The Councillor for Ward 3 Etobicoke Centre and MPP Cristina Martins helped launch the festival, which featured cultural performances, art displays, prizes, food and information booths. Fourteen students also received Toronto International Students Excellence Awards.
Toronto is Canada's largest centre for international students with more than 30,000 students enrolled in post-secondary institutions. This festival recognizes the contribution of international students to the economic and cultural development of Toronto.
This City of Toronto program is produced in partnership with 28 post-secondary institutions and is sponsored by the GTAA, the Ontario Ministry of Training Colleges and Universities, CIBC, Rogers Communications, StudentUniverse and Tim Hortons.
