CityWest Telephone Corp. and Local Union No. 213 of the International Brotherhood of Electrical Workers reach a collective agreement Français
Minister Leitch congratulates both parties
OTTAWA, June 8, 2015 /CNW/ - Today, the Honourable Dr. K. Kellie Leitch, Minister of Labour and Minister of Status of Women, congratulated CityWest Telephone Corp. and Local Union No. 213 of the International Brotherhood of Electrical Workers on the renewal of their collective agreement.
The agreement was reached with assistance from the Labour Program's Federal Mediation and Conciliation Service (FMCS). The FMCS provides dispute resolution and dispute prevention assistance to trade unions and employers under the jurisdiction of the Canada Labour Code.

- CityWest Telephone Corp. is a city-owned corporation that provides wireline, cellular telephone and Internet services to homes and business located in Prince Rupert, British Columbia, and to hospitals and 911 emergency, police, fire and ambulance, and coast guard services in nearby communities.
- The collective agreement covering all employees including journeypersons, Internet service specialists, coordinators, quality assurance representatives, cleaners, customer service representatives, payroll/accounts payable clerks, credit clerks, cable dispatchers and finance clerks expired on July 1, 2014.
