CivicAction Welcomes City-Builders Cameron Bailey, Ken Tanenbaum, Beth Wilson and Daniele Zanotti to its Board of Directors

TORONTO, June 28, 2016 /CNW/ - Today, Chair Rod Phillips announced additions to the leadership of CivicAction welcoming Cameron Bailey, Ken Tanenbaum, Beth Wilson and Daniele Zanotti to its Board of Directors – a diverse group of multi-sector leaders in the Greater Toronto and Hamilton Area committed to making the region a better place to live and work.

As the Artistic Director of the Toronto International Film Festival (TIFF), Cameron Bailey is responsible for the overall vision and execution of TIFF's selection. No stranger to CivicAction, he was a founding member of CivicAction's Emerging Leaders Network (ELN) and Co-Chair of the Arts and Culture Working group for the 2011 CivicAction Summit.

Ken Tanenbaum, Chairman of Kilmer Developments, brings 25 years in the construction and development industry to his roles with the Kilmer Group. Ken has a long history of volunteer leadership and has been engaged with CivicAction's ELN. Ken is passionate about the promise of Canada and is committed to aligning his business interests with building healthy cities and vibrant communities.

In her roles of Toronto Managing Partner & Canadian Managing Partner of Community Leadership at KPMG, Beth Wilson is responsible for the growth and operations of KPMG in the GTA. With a remarkable career in professional services that spans more than 20 years, Beth has been selected as a Top 25 Canadian Woman of Influence™. Beth has been a CivicAction DiverseCity Fellows mentor and is a long-time supporter of the organization.

Daniele Zanotti, Incoming President and CEO of United Way Toronto & York Region, was most recently United Way Toronto & York Region's Senior Vice-President of Resource Development and served previously as CEO of United Way York Region from 2007 to 2015. He was a member of the 2011-2015 CivicAction Steering Committee and served on the Champions Councils for CivicAction's Escalator: Jobs for Youth Facing Barriers and DiverseCity initiatives. 

CivicAction also announced today that long-serving board member, the Honourable David Crombie, will now serve as Honorary Co-Chair of the Board. CivicAction thanked outgoing board members Courtney Pratt and Susan McIsaac, outgoing President and CEO, United Way of Toronto & York Region, for their contributions to CivicAction and to the region over the years.
