MONTRÉAL, Feb. 26, 2018 /CNW Telbec/ - Following information published by the Journal de Montréal in its February 26 edition, The Society for the Celebration of Montréal's 375th Anniversary wishes to provide the following clarifications:
The ceremonial activities and those surrounding the inauguration of the municipal legacy projects were placed under the sole responsibility of the City of Montréal. The Society for the Celebration of Montréal's 375th Anniversary is an autonomous non-profit organization; its budget was dedicated to implementing its official programming and creating socio-economic projects, as defined by its Board of Governors.
The Society wishes to point out that Mr. Gilbert Rozon volunteered as Commissioner; he was responsible for programming development. He resigned from this position on October 18, 2017.
The Society is chaired by France Chrétien Desmarais; Alain Gignac is its General Manager.
The Society will file its final report later this spring.
