Clearford Introduces Clearford One™ Next Generation Offering
OTTAWA, April 29, 2014 /CNW/ - Clearford Industries Inc. ("Clearford" or the "Company"), (TSXV: CLI), today announced Clearford One™ comprised of ClearDigest™ a new Smart Digester™, SBS® ClearConvey™ the company's established small bore pipe network, and ClearRecover™ a new customized treatment and water recycling product.
Clearford has 25 years of successful experience with numerous installations of its SBS® (small bore sewer). The system has proven effective and reliable in delivering effluent from septic tanks for secondary and tertiary treatment in a central treatment facility. SBS® provides communities with highly flexible design of collection systems, eliminates both infiltration of groundwater into the system and leakage of effluent from the system, reduces peak flows throughout the system and eliminates primary treatment at the treatment plant. The sealed pipe network enables potable water piping to be laid in a common channel with the SBS® pipes. In these first generation systems, solids in the septic tanks require periodic removal, which has proven to be a detractor for builders and operators.
Clearford has recently introduced the ClearDigest™ Smart Digester™, which digests about 66% of the bio-solids in raw sewage, leaving only non-biodegradable solids and a small portion of residual bio-solids. Removal of accumulated solids from the digester will be required only after decades of normal use. ClearDigest™ also reduces Biochemical Oxygen Demand (BOD) by about 80% and Chemical Oxygen Demand (COD) by about 40%. These performance metrics have been proven out in extensive third-party laboratory tests that have been ongoing since 2013 near Bangalore, India, with ClearDigest™ matched against standard septic tanks.
ClearDigest™ together with the proven benefits of the SBS® ClearConvey™network, deliver near constant flow of effluent with predictable quality for final treatment in ClearRecover™, an optimized treatment facility designed to apply the best current technology to meet requirements of local regulations.
Clearford One™ is the unified sanitation system comprised of ClearDigest™, SBS® ClearConvey™ and ClearRecover™. The initial installation of Clearford One™ was completed early in 2014 in a new housing development in Cayundá, Colombia. The first installation in Canada is expected to be announced imminently.
"Clearford has evolved through 25 years of experience and investment in development of the product that today is Clearford One™," said Clearford President and CEO Kevin Loiselle.
The first installation of Clearford One™ is already up and running in a high profile sustainable community development called the Bosques Granada & Cayundá, in Colombia. It's a rural residential development to accommodate 115 new houses located in a mountainous area 25 km outside of Bogotá, with a major emphasis on water conservation and reuse. In addition to the Clearford One™ offering, the company also provided full water management including potable treatment and distribution, rainwater harvesting, and water reuse. Clearford will also be involved in the long-term operation and maintenance of the entire system. The unified water and sanitation system that delivers world-leading water conservation is enabled by the Clearford One™ system.
"The Cayundá development is a very impressive model for new communities around the world," said Loiselle. "The selection of Clearford to provide water and sanitation services is a great affirmation of Clearford One™ and our company's overall approach to water management," he said.
