Closing the Gap Healthcare Group Partners with Outward Bound Canada

CLOSING THE GAP HEALTHCARE GROUP AND OUTWARD BOUND CANADA DELIVER A COMPLEMENTARY PLAN FOR IMPROVING LIVES

TORONTO, July 19, 2013 /CNW/ - Outward Bound Canada (OBC) and Closing the Gap Healthcare Group (CTGHG) have announced that they are teaming up in order to benefit more people, on both sides of the relationship.

Improving individual and community strength is a goal that OBC and CTGHG have long been committed to. And so it was a natural fit when CTGHG and OBC joined as partners. One current joint endeavor, Reach Beyond Fundraising Expeditions, sees every CTGHG participant in OBC adventurous excursions raise funds for populations in transition (i.e. at-risk-youth, women survivors of violence, etc.) so that they too can access a life-changing OBC trip. As OBC Executive Director, Sarah Wiley, points out, "It really is a great model for both organizations, and others looking at similar partnerships. This relationship will give back at so many levels - to our participants, to CTGHG staff, to both organizations, and to the communities we both serve. We couldn't have asked for a better fit."
