Closure of westbound Chemin de la Pointe-Nord at the Île des Sœurs Bridge and Exit 5 of the Bonaventure Expressway Français
LONGUEUIL, Oct. 29, 2013 /CNW Telbec/ - The Jacques Cartier and Champlain Bridges Incorporated (JCCBI) would like to advise road users, and mainly Île des Sœurs residents, that the Chemin de la Pointe-Nord will be completely closed to westbound traffic between Alexander-Graham-Bell traffic circle up to below the Île des Sœurs Bridge, from Sunday, November 3, at 11:00 p.m., to Friday, November 8, at 5:00 a.m.
This hindrance will also include the complete closure of Exit 5 of the Bonaventure Expressway throughout the same period. During this road work, drivers will be able to access Île des Sœurs via Exit 4 of the Bonaventure Expressway, followed by the access ramp towards the A-15 South and Exit 57-S or 57-N.
To see the exact location of these closures and detours, we invite you to refer to this map.
These closures are necessary as part of construction work for the new Île des Sœurs bypass bridge, which has been under construction for the past several weeks. To learn more about this major project, we invite you to visit this page, which is dedicated to the project.
As of Friday, November 8, Chemin de la Pointe-Nord will reopen to traffic, however the right shoulder of this section of the road will be closed for the next several months. This hindrance should not have an impact on traffic.
