CMA Ontario and CMC-Canada Announce New CMA Path to CMC Designation

TORONTO, Dec. 8 /CNW/ - The Certified Management Accountants of Ontario (CMA Ontario) and the Canadian Association of Management Consultants (CMC-Canada) formalized the path for CMAs to become CMCs today.   This news follows the announcement of a strategic alliance between CMA Canada and CMC-Canada in December 2008.

"Career flexibility is becoming increasingly important in today's rapidly evolving economy", said Merv Hiller MBA, FCMA, C. Dir, CMC, President and Chief Executive Officer, CMA Ontario.  "The CMC designation will enable our members to maximize the value they provide to organizations in a consulting capacity."

"The CMC designation is the management consulting profession's only international certification mark and is recognized in 50 countries", said Glenn Yonemitsu, MBA, CMC, Chief Executive Officer of CMC-Canada.  "The CMC designation represents a commitment to the higher standards of consulting and adherence to the ethical guidelines of the profession.  We are delighted to be working with CMA to offer this new path to our designation."

The CMA path to the CMC includes a practical experience (work experience) component, an education (consulting courses) component, and an assessment process.  There is both a professional path to the CMC designation, and an executive path for CMAs who qualify as senior executives with the requisite experience.
