TORONTO, Sept. 6, 2018 /CNW/ - The Canadian Marketing Association (CMA) today released the curriculum framework for Canada's Chartered Marketer (CM) designation.
"Our goal is to elevate the marketing profession and strengthen the path to success for marketers," said John Wiltshire, president & CEO, Canadian Marketing Association. "The CM designation signifies a well-rounded marketer, operating with a high level of expertise and in accordance with a respected Code of Conduct for Professional Marketers."
The CM program is influenced by three fundamental drivers: technology, relevancy and ethics. It requires marketing professionals to undergo the most comprehensive skills development and education ever offered in Canada. Its unique continuous-learning curriculum goes beyond just theory in the classroom. Graduates will have a strong, broad-based foundational knowledge of all aspects of marketing plus deeper knowledge in one area of specialization.
"Technology is profoundly transforming all aspects of business," Wiltshire noted. "We exemplify this in the way that we deliver the curriculum, and in the content itself."
The curriculum is being delivered through an advanced online learning platform in Canada – designed to be intuitive and engaging for students, and available to anyone across the country.
The CMA prep course will ensure that incoming students have a strong base of knowledge as they enter the program. The program consists of three Applied Marketing courses, an in-depth Elective, and a Summit Project that draws on all the previous learning and provides soft skills training.
"Graduates will have the skills and confidence to make informed business decisions and to advance their careers," Wiltshire said.
The program is designed for working marketers, and courses are completed on a part-time basis.
Drawing upon the expertise of many of Canada's leading marketers, the CMA's Chartered Marketing designation emphasizes collaboration and peer-to-peer learning. Through the work of a highly skilled curriculum development team and our Thought Leadership Councils, the course content will be continuously updated to keep it current and relevant.
The CM Prep Course starts October 15 and enrollment is now open.
