MONTREAL, Nov. 24, 2014 /CNW Telbec/ - CN (TSX: CNR) (NYSE: CNI) announced today that the tenth edition of the CN Canadiens Alumni Challenge raised C$398,555. The proceeds will benefit charitable organizations supported by the CN Employees' and Pensioners' Community Fund (CN Community Fund), notably the Simple Plan Foundation, Ted Nolan Foundation, L'appart à moi and The Cancer Support Center in Homewood, Ill.
Since its first edition, in 2002, the CN Canadiens Alumni Challenge has raised C$2,575,535 million for charity.

On Saturday, at Montreal's Saint-Michel Arena, CN's hockey club played against a team of former Montreal Canadiens coached by Guy Lafleur, including Guy Carbonneau, Patrice Brisebois, Stéphane Richer, and Chris Nilan. To mark this milestone, Simple Plan has given an acoustic performance before the game. The internationally revered band is well known for its community involvement. These big-hearted rock stars have launched their own foundation to help troubled youth.
