Brunswick ratify new collective agreement
MONTREAL, Oct. 27 /CNW Telbec/ - CN (TSX: CNR) (NYSE:CNI) announced today that locomotive engineers and conductors who work on its rail lines in eastern Quebec and northeastern New Brunswick have ratified a new collective labour agreement.
The new agreement, in effect through Dec. 31, 2011, pays employees represented by the Teamsters Canada Rail Conference an hourly rate, with a wage increase to take effect Jan. 1, 2011.
Flexible work rules -- similar to those in effect on CN's Northern Quebec Internal Short Line -- apply to 38 engineers and conductors based at Mont Joli, Que., and Campbellton, Bathurst and Miramichi, N.B.
