COQUITLAM, BC, Aug. 23, 2012 /CNW Telbec/ - CN (TSX: CNR) (NYSE: CNI) and Golf Canada are encouraging individuals and corporations to make charitable donations in support of BC Children's Hospital Foundation, the official charitable beneficiary of the 2012 CN Miracle Match (CNMM) campaign, which is entering the final stretch.
The CNMM fund-raising campaign is running in connection with the 2012 CN Canadian Women's Open, which is being held at the Vancouver Golf Club from August 20 to 26.
CNMM is a national charitable initiative that rallies communities across Canada behind a very worthy cause, supporting children's hospitals. Each year since 2006, CN has raised funds to support one or more children's hospitals by matching funds raised through various initiatives that are connected with the CN Canadian Women's Open. From 2006 - 2011, the CNMM program has raised close to $6.5 million for children's hospitals.
Claude Mongeau, CN president and chief executive officer, said: "At CN, we are deeply committed to giving back to the communities that we serve and we are very proud of the support we have been able to give to children's hospitals in Canada through the CN Miracle Match program. We are pleased to have received numerous donations since the start of the 2012 campaign and sincerely hope that even more people from all over British Columbia will support this very worthy cause as the BC Children's Hospital provides critical pediatric care to children across the entire province."
Those wanting to support the BC Children's Hospital Foundation can visit www.cnmiraclematch.ca to make their donation.
