CNW donates more than $120,000 to aid Haiti relief efforts

TORONTO, Feb. 26 /CNW/ - Earlier today CNW Group donated $122,356.91 to the Canadian Red Cross for Haiti relief efforts.

In the days and weeks following the devastating earthquake in Haiti, CNW committed to a fundraising program wherein all revenue generated from earthquake-related news releases would be donated to the Canadian Red Cross. The program produced $101,375.80. CNW added a corporate donation of $20,000.

"This contribution, along with all the donations we have received, will allow us to continue to provide urgent aid to the people affected by this devastating earthquake."

The donation program received enthusiastic support from CNW team members, who rallied to raise an additional $981.11, bringing the total donation to $122,356.91.

The presentation was made by CNW President and CEO, Carolyn McGill-Davidson to Pam Aung Thin, National Director, Public Affairs and Government Relations of the Canadian Red Cross at the Canadian Public Relations Society Ottawa/Gatineau chapter conference at the Sheraton Hotel in Ottawa.
