CNW Group Newsmakers win the TMX Cup at the SCRABBLE Corporate Challenge
Sixth annual fundraiser raises record funds for Frontier College
TORONTO, March 4 /CNW/ - Last night, top executives from Bay Street's banks, investment, accounting, and law firms competed in the sixth annual SCRABBLE Corporate Challenge, presented by TMX Group and hosted by the CBC's Amanda Lang.
Corporations from the financial, legal, technology and accounting sectors challenged their peers in a competitive game of SCRABBLE for the chance to win the coveted TMX Cup, in support of Frontier College, Canada's original literacy organization.
This year, the CNW Group Newsmakers defeated 45 SCRABBLE teams to successfully defend their 2009 championship and once again take home the TMX Cup.
"We offer our congratulations to the CNW Team for their exciting win last night and a big thank you to all of our competing organizations," said Sherry Campbell, President, Frontier College. "More than 40% of Canadians struggle to read and write. Having Bay Street's support at the SCRABBLE Corporate Challenge makes an incredible difference - this was our most successful year yet."

The SCRABBLE(R) Corporate Challenge was established in 2005. A tournament based on the word game SCRABBLE(R) is the perfect event to bring awareness to low literacy rates in Canada. Since 2005, the event has raised over $1 million for Frontier College and its important mission to improve literacy rates across Canada.
