VANCOUVER, Oct. 18 /CNW/ - To celebrate the installation of 35 floors of new windows at the 269-room Coast Plaza Hotel & Suites in English Bay, Coast Hotels & Resorts today announced its "Suite Tweets" promotion offering followers a chance to win one of 35 free night's stay at the popular Vancouver hotel.

To mark the completion of this extensive refurbishment involving the replacement of 35 floors of single-paned windows at the Coast Plaza Hotel & Suites with 526 energy efficient double-paned windows, Coast Hotels & Resorts is giving away 35 complementary nights in a one-bedroom suite at the Coast Plaza Hotel.   Starting October 18 until November 21, followers of Coast Hotels & Resorts on Twitter (http://twitter.com/coasthotels) who retweet "RT @coasthotels: Win a free night in 1 of 35 One Bedroom Suites at Coast Plaza Hotel & Suites in Vancouver, BC #suitetweets " will be eligible for a complementary night's stay at the hotel. Coast Hotels will randomly select a Tweet per day and award one free "Suite Tweets" night at the Coast Plaza Hotel & Suites every day over the course of 35 days. Followers who post a tweet containing #suitetweets and @coasthotels with a reason why they want to stay at the Coast Plaza Hotel & Suites receive one bonus entry in the daily draw.

Last fall, Coast Hotels & Resorts signed a long-term lease for the Coast Plaza Hotel & Suites, located at 1763 Comox Street, enabling the property to continue operating as a Coast Hotel until at least 2017, with an option to extend the lease to 2027.  As part of this long-term commitment to the property, the Coast Plaza Hotel & Suites is undergoing a $9 million facelift.  In addition to replacing 35 floors of windows, the hotel's roof and exterior are being upgraded to give the building a brighter, more modern look. The property's owner, 0792203 B.C. Ltd, contributed $6 million to upgrade the hotel's roof and exterior. Coast Hotels & Resorts is investing an additional $3 million to refurbish guest rooms which will include new carpeting, wall coverings, furnishings, fixtures, beds and flat screen televisions as well as a significant upgrade of the hotel's 4,500 square foot ballroom, which will get underway later this year.
