Coast to Coast Against Cancer Foundation pleased to support the CIBC 401 Bike Challenge with a new partnership to raise funds and awareness for pediatric oncology
TORONTO, June 7, 2017 /CNW/ - The Coast to Coast Against Cancer Foundation (CTCACF) is pleased to announce it will be supporting CIBC's employee-driven fundraiser, The CIBC 401 Bike Challenge, as a new partner, to raise even more funds and awareness for pediatric oncology.
This grassroots, 600-kilometire, 3-day cycling event was created by two employee in CIBC's Wealth Management division, and has grown to host 40 cyclists riding from The Hospital for Sick Children in Toronto to Montreal Children's Hospital. To date, $2 million has been raised through community support and sponsorship.
CIBC has confirmed its continued support with title sponsorship for 2017.
Now entering its 12th year, this year marks the first time the fundraiser has partnered with CTCACF. "We are incredibly proud to be able to introduce this event to our community, the 401 Bike Challenge is challenging yet inspiring, and filled with potential," said Simon Williams, Executive Director, CTCACF. "Our goal is to raise $250,000, to support both SickKids and Montreal Children`s Hospital."
CTCACF has a long and storied history of combining high-endurance cycling events with fundraising, having raised and donated almost $50 million to pediatric oncology initiatives across Canada.
"We are thrilled to be partnering with CTCACF," said Gene Piccoli and Angie Lemmo, 401 Bike Challenge founders. "Each year, the 401 Bike Challenge grows and has a greater impact on the community. We look forward to seeing this partnership prosper and raise more money for kids suffering from cancer."
The 401 Bike Challenge begins on Wednesday, August 9 whens riders depart from SickKids in Toronto, finishing on Friday, August 11, arriving at Montreal Children's Hospital. Space is filling up quickly, however registration is still available for $450. Registration includes a kit, transportation, all food, accommodations and a fully supported route. All riders commit to a fundraising a minimum of $4,000.
