QUEBEC, Sept. 18, 2012 /CNW Telbec/ - Today, over 20 Coca-Cola Canada employees from Quebec City supported the Great Canadian Shoreline Cleanup. As part of its commitment to make a positive difference in communities, Coca-Cola joins efforts to protect and conserve shorelines across Canada and help keep them beautiful and free of litter.
"Water is not only an essential ingredient in all of Coca-Cola's beverages, but central to many of the agricultural ingredients that make up its products. We recognize our responsibility to protect this resource, said Robert Delisle, Distribution Center Manager, Quebec East, Coca Cola Canada. "We're engaged in initiatives like the Great Canadian Shoreline Cleanup to encourage employees and other community members to get involved. We can all do more working with others than we can on our own."
"The Great Canadian Shoreline Cleanup is a great way to mobilize important organization such as Coca-Cola as well as local communities who care for their waterways, said Marie-Claude Lemieux, Quebec Regional Director, World Wildlife Fund Canada. The Vancouver Aquarium and WWF are delighted to have this occasion to educate the general public about the importance of the aquatic debris issue."
Litter greatly threatens wildlife and water quality in Canada's rivers, streams and waterways. These problems are preventable and keeping the waterways free from debris is one of the easiest ways Quebecers can support the nation's fragile ecosystems.
Coca-Cola Canada invites everyone to join their community to get involved to help preserve Canada's waterways and keep our shorelines beautiful and litter-free.
