Cogeco Cable Inc. Files Preliminary Short Form Base Shelf Prospectus for up
to $750 Million of Debt Securities

MONTREAL, Dec. 10 /CNW Telbec/ - Cogeco Cable Inc. (TSX: CCA) ("Cogeco Cable") today announced that it has filed with the securities regulatory authorities in each of the provinces and territories of Canada a preliminary short form base shelf prospectus for the issuance of up to $750 million of debt securities, which may consist of debentures, notes or other types of debt securities. These debt securities may be offered from time to time, during a 25-month period for which the short form base shelf prospectus remains valid. The specific terms of any debt securities will be described in one or more shelf prospectus supplements to be filed with the securities regulatory authorities.
This short form base shelf prospectus, upon becoming final, will replace Cogeco Cable's corresponding existing short form base shelf prospectus that expires on June 27, 2011. The preliminary short form base shelf prospectus will not become final until a final short form base shelf prospectus is filed with the securities regulatory authorities in each of the provinces and territories of Canada and a receipt is obtained.
