Colabor Group reassures his clients about the recall of ground beef from his Lauzon Meats division
BOUCHERVILLE, QC, Nov. 19, 2013 /CNW Telbec/ - Colabor Group Inc. (TSX: GCL) ("Colabor" or the "Company") wishes to reassure all its customers and the general public.
In the notice sent on Monday, the Canadian Food Inspection Agency (CFIA) announced that Colabor Group Inc. had recalled ground beef, because some of the products distributed in the province of Quebec may have been contaminated by the E. Coli bacteria. This was a preventive measure following a presumptive detection that had been identified internally based on laboratory analysis.
This recall concerns some thirty customers served by the Eastern Quebec and Maritimes Division (EQM). This was a production of 425 kg of ground meat produced by Lauzon Meats. All customers affected by this distribution of products have already been contacted by the sales team in place.
Colabor has a rigorous prevention process to avoid the spreading of bacteria through laboratory testing which is in place in all of their facilities. The process allowed taking the necessary measures to rapidly stop production, to make the recall and eliminate the cause. Each of the concerned customers had been contacted and the recall is now completed. There has not been a single case of disease reported.
