QUÉBEC, Oct. 15, 2013 /CNW Telbec/ - The Collection Loto-Québec is proud to present Part 2 of the series "Hommage aux grands créateurs" at the Musée de la civilisation de Québec (MCQ), the second of a trio of exhibitions focusing on Pierre Gauvreau's body of work hosted by the Musée. Part 2 opens tomorrow and will run until March 23, 2014.
The Hommage aux grands créateurs Series
Loto-Québec has been a partner of the Musée since March 2012. The three-year agreement between the Corporation and the MCQ covers the Collection Loto-Québec presentation of the trio of "Hommage aux grands créateurs" exhibitions. Entitled Pierre Gauvreau. J'espérais vous voir ici, the exhibition opens to the general public tomorrow. Part 3 is scheduled for the end of 2014 and will cover the fascinating world of contemporary dance.
In 2012, Loto-Québec collaborated on the presentation of another exhibition entitled L'Univers de Michel Tremblay. "We are very pleased to honour another great artist who has left his mark on Québec's creative world. By participating in the trio of exhibitions organized by the MCQ, the Collection Loto-Québec draws attention to the work of an unusual humanist," said Lucie Lamoureux, Loto-Québec's Director of Corporate Sponsorships and Social Commitment.
Thanks to that contribution, six works by Pierre Gauvreau and two by his wife, Janine Carreau, produced between 1999 and 2009 and now part of the Corporation's collection, will make up the Collection Loto-Québec exhibition presented outside their usual venue. Musée visitors may view the works free of charge, a policy that is in line with the Collection Loto-Québec mission to promote the works of local creators to the greatest possible number of Quebecers.
