College leaders meet to discuss issues facing urban institutions

MONTREAL , Oct. 1 /CNW Telbec/ - The Association of Canadian Community Colleges, in partnership with le Regroupement des collèges du Montréal métropolitain, will host top college leaders from Canada's largest cities at Dawson College in Montreal for a three-day symposium on October 4 to 6, 2009, on issues facing metropolitan colleges across the country.

The symposium will feature exchanges among participants on the various approaches and best practices developed by big-city colleges in several key areas such as: the role of colleges in economic development, partnerships between colleges and metropolitan organizations and businesses, immigrant services, security, student success, and applied research.
