College Mathematics Project releases latest report

What: Report to be released by Seneca College-led research team on the mathematics achievement of first semester college students. When: Tuesday, March 9, 2010 9 a.m. Where: Queen's Park Media Studio Main Legislative Building Toronto, Ontario Why: To recommend key changes to ensure increased student success in college mathematics. Who: In 2004 Seneca College initiated the College Mathematics Project (CMP) through the York - Seneca Institute for Mathematics, Science and Technology Education. The first year of the project involved a small-scale pilot study of 500 students in three schools of technology at Seneca College. Since then, the project has been expanded across the province with this report analyzing the school and college achievement records of 80,000 students, involving all 24 Ontario colleges and 72 District School Boards
