TORONTO, Oct. 1, 2014 /CNW/ - Support workers at Ontario's 24 colleges have ratified their new collective agreement.
In a vote count conducted today by the Ontario Labour Relations Board, the workers, who are represented by the Ontario Public Service Employees Union (OPSEU), voted 87 per cent in favour of the tentative deal which they had reached with the colleges on Aug. 15.
"Clearly our members liked what they saw in the tentative agreement and today they threw their wholehearted support behind it," said OPSEU President Warren (Smokey) Thomas. "We look forward to four years of steady relations with management."
