Collins Barrow Toronto partner accepts Anaconda Mining board appointment

TORONTO, Feb. 14, 2012 /CNW/ - Maruf Raza, CA, an Audit and Assurance partner in the Public Markets practice of Collins Barrow Toronto LLP, a leading mid-market chartered accounting firm, joined the newly restructured board of directors of Anaconda Mining Inc. (TSX: ANX), a Toronto-based gold mining and exploration company with a producing gold mine in Newfoundland's Baie Verte Peninsula.

Mr. Raza's practice focuses on the mining and oil-and-gas sectors. He advises public company clients, in addition to helping private Canadian and US companies — both in the exploration and production stages — go public through direct initial public offerings and reverse takeovers. Regarded as a thought leader on IFRS convergence, he is a member of the CICA's IFRS Discussion Group and sits on the Ontario Securities Commission's Financial Reporting and Small Business advisory committees.
