TORONTO, May 27 /CNW/ - The Comfort Inn(R) in Sturgeon Falls, ON, has received top honours as the Choice Hotels Canada(TM) 2010 Canadian Hotel of the Year. The award was announced May 5th, at the 56th annual Choice Hotels International(R) convention in Las Vegas, NV.

Nominations for this award are handed to just three of 26 Gold Award winning hotels out of a possible 280-plus Choice hotels across Canada. Finalists are nominated and evaluated by peer hoteliers, whose selection criteria include guest service, hotel cleanliness and décor. The winner is chosen by the Choice Canada Franchise Advisory Board and announced at the worldwide convention in Las Vegas, NV. This is not the first time the Comfort Inn has been rewarded for its hard work; in the fall of 2009, the hotel was recognized as being one of the most-recommended hotels in the country and received a 2009 APEX Award from Choice Hotels Canada.
