Cominar REIT continues to break new ground within its real estate portfolio with innovative business incubation initiatives and pop-up retail concepts.
QUEBEC CITY, May 25, 2017 /CNW Telbec/ - Cominar REIT is pleased to announce that the Womance concept will be touring its properties in the coming months. Andréanne Marquis, a young Quebec entrepreneur whose online store specializes in made-in-Quebec designer fashions and accessories, will be taking her tremendously successful formula to Cominar's shopping centres. She will begin her roadshow at Quebec City's Place de la Cité in June and then continue on to Carrefour Rimouski, Alexis Nihon, Les Rivières, Galeries de Hull, Centre commercial Rivière-du-Loup, Mail Champlain, Place Bathurst Mall and Galeries Rive-Nord.
"This collaboration with Cominar is in keeping with our commitment to encouraging entrepreneurship, supporting up-and-coming talent and providing a showcase for the next generation of gifted designers and artists," said Richard Nolin, Vice President, Operations and Commercial Strategy, Cominar REIT. "But it is also a singular opportunity to give young companies that currently do all their business online an actual physical presence."
"We are daring to step outside the box and rethink the traditional owner-tenant relationship by putting additional emphasis on consumers and female entrepreneurs in our strategy," said Manon Larose, Cominar's REIT Vice President, Leasing, Retail.
In recent months, Cominar REIT has rolled out a number of innovative business incubation concepts. One of these has been the Espace Éphémère at Centropolis, which boasts over 2,500 square feet for pop-up retail, special events and temporary installations. Dixie Mall's Living Room is another example of a multipurpose space for meetings, events and pop-up applications. Through these and other initiatives, Cominar REIT is reinventing the conventional retail environment.
Created to tap into a trend that is gaining traction in the retail industry, a new pop-up concept known as the Cabinet Éphémère was recently launched at Rockland, featuring 20 Quebec designers, including Marie Saint Pierre's menswear collection, P2 par Philippe Dubuc, Nisse, LAMARQUE, VOLT Design and Betina Lou. This new lifestyle destination shines a spotlight on homegrown talent and treats customers to a new and wow-worthy approach.
Cominar REIT also plans to introduce pop-up concepts to other shopping centres in its portfolio to keep pace with the demands of the new retail ecosystem. As a result, it will continue to reinvent itself and find ways to complement online offerings, with distinctive shopping experiences that bring designers and customers closer together.
