Commercial real estate veteran Rob Quinn joins Avison Young in Ottawa

Leading suburban office and industrial broker becomes Principal

OTTAWA, Aug. 22, 2012 /CNW/ - Michael Church, Avison Young Principal and Managing Director of the company's Ottawa office, announced today that commercial real estate veteran Rob Quinn has joined Avison Young in Ottawa.

Effective immediately, Quinn joins Avison Young as a Principal. He will focus on the suburban office and industrial sales and leasing markets in Ottawa and Eastern Ontario. He was most recently a broker with Metro-Suburban Realty in Ottawa, a firm he co-founded in 1989.

Quinn brings more than 30 years of real estate experience to Avison Young. Prior to co-founding Metro-Suburban Realty, of which he was President until he sold the firm in 2011, Quinn held positions with a major Ottawa commercial brokerage firm and an established real estate development company. Serving as Director of Properties of the development company, Quinn was responsible for all areas of acquisition, disposition, lease negotiation, tenant relations and marketing strategies.

Quinn began his real estate career in 1979 in the property management field where he managed several high-density properties across the Ottawa region. Over the past three decades, he has worked with numerous multi-national firms and hundreds of successful entrepreneurs, business owners and associations. Assignments have involved amalgamation, relocation, purchase and acquisition, sale and disposition, and build-to-suit properties. Quinn has sat on the board of directors of various organizations and has been, and continues to be, a front-line volunteer in his community.

Over the past three years, Avison Young has grown from 11 to 32 offices and from 300 to more than 950 real estate professionals across Canada and the U.S.
