Communitech sends two Canadian companies to Google for Entrepreneurs events in Silicon Valley
WATERLOO REGION, ON, March 4, 2014 /CNW/ - Since Communitech was chosen as the only Canadian Google for Entrepreneurs Tech Hub last September, the partnership between Google for Entrepreneurs and Communitech has continued to grow, providing increased opportunities for startups.
The most recent examples include:
- Beanworks, a recent Communitech HYPERDRIVE graduate, was selected to attend BlackBox Connect, a unique two-week immersion program designed to introduce companies to mentors, investors and partners in Silicon Valley.
- Following a competition held through Communitech's national initiative, the Canadian Digital Media Network, Mojio was selected to attend the Google for Entrepreneurs Demo Day on April 1st and 2nd, where it's team will have the opportunity to meet some of the most influential investors in Silicon Valley.
- Five startups were chosen for a four-month residency in the Google Innovation Space at the Communitech Hub, where they will be provided with workspace, mentorship and several thousands of dollars worth of access to Google products.
