Global financial leaders on Community Owned Renewable Power meet at MaRS Discovery District to discuss investment in Ontario

What: The Community Power Finance Forum will present community power project developers, funders and policy makers with finance, funding and project management information relevant to community-owned renewable power projects in Ontario, under the province's Green Energy Act and the feed- in-tariff program. The forum is presented by the MaRS Discovery District, the Green Energy Act Alliance and D & D Securities. The program includes speakers from: Middelgrunden Cooperative Copenhagen's offshore wind project, One World Energy, Italian Canadian Savings and Credit Union, Ontario Financing Authority, Farm Credit Canada, Koenig & Consultants, Investitionsbank Schleswig-Holstein, MaRS Discovery District and more. The Green Energy Act (GEA) presents a significant opportunity for community participation the growth of renewable energy production in Ontario. Under the Act, communities get paid a premium for renewable power generation they own in part or outright, sweetening the business case for local ownership and partnerships.
