CALGARY, July 18, 2013 /CNW/ - Compass Compression Services Ltd. ("Compass Compression"), who offer packaging, rental and service of natural gas compression equipment, announced opening its third manufacturing facility today.
The additional facility gives Compass Compression 62,000 square feet of shop space, increasing production capacity by approximately 25%.
Over the past year, Compass Compression has introduced two new fabrication groups, a structural skid fabrication group and a vessel, spooling and piping fabrication group. The new 16,000 square foot shop has been dedicated to vessel, spooling and piping fabrication, while an existing 12,000 square foot shop has been allocated to skid fabrication. This new facility and re-allocation of space provides Compass Compression with additional assembly space at their main assembly facility.
"These new groups have been developed to meet a large percentage of our fabrication requirements." says Phil Ness, VP Operations at Compass Compression, "The additional space allows us to develop these additional capabilities to support our growth, and broaden our potential customer base."
Compass Compression has been in business for more than a decade. During the last few years their focus has been on expanding their capabilities and reach. The third facility, in addition to an increased horsepower range (up to 8000 HP), the introduction of Ariel and Frick to their list of OEM's, larger horsepower rental options, and growth of their service division has catapulted Compass Compression to the forefront of the North American gas compression market.
