Compass Group at British Columbia Institute of Technology Receives EcoLogo
Environmental Stewardship Award
TORONTO, March 1 /CNW/ - Compass Group Canada's Eurest Services team on-site at the British Columbia Institute of Technology (BCIT) has been awarded the EcoLogo Environmental Stewardship Award. This award recognizes organizations for their commitment to environmental protection through green purchasing.
Compass Group Canada responded favourably to BCIT's desire to implement more green initiatives by switching to EcoLogo certified cleaning solutions. Products include hard surface cleaners, floor care products, and personal care products. This decision not only benefits the environment, but also improves the health and safety conditions for numerous employees, occupants, and visitors of buildings serviced by Compass Group Canada.
Lise Beutel, a Consultant with TerraChoice Group and the EcoLogo Program congratulated Compass Group at BCIT for taking the lead in the janitorial and sanitation industry by purchasing more environmentally preferable cleaning products and for setting such high "green" standards for their service providers. "It is very encouraging when a company chooses EcoLogo-certified products over traditional cleaning chemicals because it represents a commitment to the health of workers, building occupants and the environment," Beutel said.
Jack C. MacDonald, CEO, Compass Group Canada and ESS North America and Michael Masse, President, Eurest were on hand to receive the award.
"We are honoured to be recognized with this award," said Michael Masse, President, Eurest. As the country's leading foodservice and support services company, providing high-quality products and services to our customers is what Compass does best. We are committed to a sustainable future by integrating sustainable practices, policies and programs into our culture," said Masse.
