Compliance Energy 2009 drill program at Raven successful

VANCOUVER , Oct. 13 /CNW/ - Compliance Energy Corporation (the "Company" or "Compliance") is pleased to announce that this summer's drill program at the Raven Underground Coal Project has been completed with results meeting expectations. This drill program has been very successful and it will allow the current measured and indicated resource of 39 million tonnes to be increased by upgrading a significant portion of the current inferred resource of 59 million tonnes to the measured or indicated resource category. This will allow Pincock Allen & Holt to complete a feasibility study on a much larger resource with a potential mine life in excess of 20 years. The feasibility study is scheduled to be completed in the 2nd quarter of 2010.

In the 42 drill holes completed, a total of 9899 meters was drilled and coal was intersected in all but one of the 42 holes. In drill hole RAV-09-025 the lower seams were displaced due to faulting. There are two seams of economic interest,(1.5 metres or greater) Seam 1 and Seam 3, and they have been intercepted at various depths in thicknesses ranging from 1.0 to 7.4 meters for Seam 1 and 0.65 to 5.35 meters for Seam 3 excluding partings material. (Note: all thicknesses represent drill intersected thickness and have not been corrected to true thickness). The cores samples have been sent to Birtley Coal & Minerals Testing Division of GWIL Industries in Calgary , Alberta for coal quality analyses and washability testing. It is expected that the coal quality analysis will be completed and available for reporting by the end of the December 2009 .

Further to the drill program, Compliance hired AMEC Earth and Environmental to prepare an environmental assessment on the project. AMEC has initiated its environmental baseline monitoring and has crews in the field monitoring or carrying out archaeological, fish and wildlife, vegetation, hydrogeological and hydrological surveys. AMEC are currently preparing the environmental assessment Application Information Requirements ("AIR") which will be submitted to the government prior to year end. The "AIR" will outline the specific information and studies that will be provided in the Environmental Assessment Certificate Application which is targeted for submission in the 2nd Quarter of 2010.

The drilling and coal quality program is under the supervision of Owen R. Cullingham, P. Geo., who is the Independent Qualified Person for reporting purposes as defined in NI 43 - 101 Standards of Disclosure for Mineral Projects.
