Concert to promote the work of CARE Canada
OTTAWA, Aug. 29, 2012 /CNW/ - Cathedral Arts, the arts programme at Christ Church Cathedral Ottawa, will present The Road to Carnegie Hall, featuring Canadian lyric tenor, Ken Lavigne on Sunday, September 16th at 3:00PM at the cathedral, 420 Sparks Street. The concert will serve to raise awareness and support for the work of CARE Canada, an organization that is dedicated to serving individuals and families in the poorest communities in the world (See: www.care.ca). Over the years, Cathedral Arts has promoted many special causes as part of its outreach activities.
The award-winning Ken Lavigne is a singer, composer and consummate entertainer. Recognized early for the outstanding timbre of his lyric tenor voice as well as the ease and agility with which he sings, Lavigne undertook vocal and music training in his native Victoria, BC, at the University of Victoria and at the Victoria Conservatory of Music. Further study took him to Wales and to New York.
Cabaret Exchange New York describes his voice to be like "liquid gold" with a focus "so precise as to soothe and excite at the same time" The Globe and Mail calls him "outstanding" and, The Victoria Times declares that he is "just plain exhilarating".
On September 16th, Ken Lavigne will present an afternoon of music that will touch every heart with his sincere delivery of ballads, show tunes and classical crossover hits.
