MONTREAL, Sept. 10, 2013 /CNW Telbec/ - The Concordia University Library Employees' Union (CSN) reached an agreement-in-principle yesterday with the university administration to renew a collective agreement that expired May 31, 2009.
Details will be revealed after the union's members have discussed its contents and voted to accept or reject the tentative agreement at a general assembly, which has not yet been scheduled. The CULEU negotiation committee is recommending members vote to adopt the agreement-in-principle.
"More than four years after our previous collective agreement expired, we have finally reached an agreement with Concordia," noted CULEU President Irene Fernandez. "We want to work for the Concordia community in a healthy atmosphere, which is often difficult when we feel a lack of respect from our employer. Now, we will leave the final decision on this agreement-in-principle to our 90 members."
