Conjurers From Around the World Gather for 3 Days of Magic
Annual magician's convention 'appears' in Kitchener to celebrate the world's masters of illusion.
KITCHENER, ON, April 19 /CNW/ - Magicians and illusionists from around the world are assembling in Kitchener, Ontario for the 2010 Canadian Association of Magicians Convention. The 'behind closed doors' convention is held at the Kitchener Delta Hotel and Convention Centre from April 29, 30, May 1 and will play host to the world's greatest performers, thinkers and masters of illusion. "Learning and sharing is the success of magic today; we are an art form that thrives on highly protected secrets and acts of misdirection," says Joan Caesar, president of The Canadian Association of Magicians. "For magic to grow and evolve we have to learn from each other."
The Canadian Association of Magicians is Canada's leading organization for the magical arts and is dedicated to the promotion and encouragement of magic and magicians in Canada. The annual convention reunites magicians from across the country with world famous leaders and award winning magic champions from 7 countries on 4 continents.
With this many magicians there are bound to be a few tricks up some sleeves; however you don't have to be a magician to experience the wonder.
On May 1st at 7:30pm the convention concludes with Masters of Magic a public magic spectacle held at the Centre in the Square. The performance showcases Canada's finest performers and international magic superstars. "This is going to be the biggest magical event of the year," says Caesar. "We have assembled some of the greatest talent from Canada, USA, Australia and France. These are the magicians that MAGICIANS come to see!"
Bringing the Masters of Magic show to a dramatic close is Canadian magic celebrity Ryan Joyce who each year tours the country and has appeared in New Zealand, Indian, Egypt and the Middle East. During his career he has made a full sized fire truck disappear into thin air, made a 2 ton SUV float, vanished over 100 politicians.
"On May 1st we have the opportunity to close the program along with 7 other world class entertainers. You may have seen magic on television before, but this is your opportunity to experience the impossible live on stage. From every breathtaking moment your mind won't believe what your eyes are seeing," says Joyce.
Tickets and information about Masters of Magic can be purchased through the Centre in the Square box office by calling 1-800-265-8977.
