Contact Exploration Announces Montney Operations Update
(TSX-V:CEX)
CALGARY, April 12, 2012 /CNW/ - Contact Exploration Inc. ("Contact" or the "Company") (TSX-V: CEX) is pleased to announce that the Contact operated horizontal Montney well (the "13-17 Well") has been successfully drilled to a total measured depth of 5,071m, including a horizontal leg that remained within the target interval for the entire 1,430m. The 13-17 Well was drilled within the expected timelines and on budget.
The 13-17 Well has been equipped with a packer-style completion system that will facilitate a fifteen stage frac. Contact is now expeditiously working to complete the 13-17 Well and expects that the completion may be accomplished in an accelerated time frame within the next three weeks. The Company cautions, however, that uncertainty in weather conditions, particularly elevated precipitation, could delay completion operations.
Contact operates the Deep Basin Montney project and is responsible for 37.5% of costs of drilling and completion of the 13-17 Well. The Company will hold a 25% interest in 16 contiguous sections of land following the completion of the 13-17 Well.
