Controversial Supplement EMPowerplus Proven Effective
The British Journal of Psychiatry Reports "Significantly Robust" Improvement in ADHD and Depression Symptoms, treatment was much more effective than placebo.
CALGARY, Jan. 30, 2014 /CNW/ - Researchers at the University of Canterbury in Christchurch New Zealand have found in a double blind study that a nutritional supplement "Truehope EMPowerplus™" has significant benefits for adults with psychiatric symptoms of ADHD, depression, hyperactivity, impulsivity and inattention. Dr. Julia Rucklidge and her team of researchers successfully completed the placebo-controlled study, which was published today in The British Journal of Psychiatry.
In the study researchers reported "We demonstrated that micronutrient treatment induced statistically robust improvements in several indices…." "Specifically, participants taking the micronutrient formula reported greater improvement in both inattention and hyperactivity/ impulsivity compared with those taking a placebo."
Dr. Rucklidge further reported "Hyperactivity/ impulsivity scores were reduced into the normal non-clinical range with micronutrient administration but not placebo."
The research publication also identified a major reduction in symptoms of depression (using the MADRS depression rating scale) in those suffering with moderate to severe depression. "A further exploration of the MADRS scores revealed a significant difference favouring the micronutrient group when a subsample of those with moderate or severe depression at baseline was examined"
According to the researchers 47.6% of the micronutrient group were "much" to "very much improved" over the eight-week study.
Anthony Stephan Founder of Truehope the producer of EMPowerplus™ stated "This research now places Truehope EMPowerplus™ in a new class of first line treatments for many of the most common mood disorders. The safety profile of the product has been researched extensively and has been proven to be safe in use over the past 16 years." Dr. Rucklidge states in the publishing "These results are consistent with a review of over 140 patients treated with this micronutrient formula, which did not identify any significant adverse effects or safety concerns"
The micronutrient formula known as Truehope EMPowerplus™, was developed by The Synergy Group of Canada Inc., an Alberta-based organization dedicated to researching and developing new cutting edge technologies for the treatment of mood disorders.
