OTTAWA, Jan. 9, 2018 /CNW/ - Conversant Wireless Licensing S.à r.l., a subsidiary of Conversant Intellectual Property Management Inc., announced today that it has joined the European Telecommunications Standards Institute (ETSI). ETSI is a European-based, international, independent, not-for-profit organization that produces globally-applicable standards for information and communications technologies. As a partner in the international Third Generation Partnership Project (3GPP™), ETSI is helping to develop 4G and 5G mobile communications. "Conversant has a long standing reputation as a technology innovator," said Boris Teksler, President and CEO of Conversant. "Since the company was founded in 1975, our engineers have made important discoveries that significantly improved the operation of DRAM semiconductor chips. As a long-time member of the Joint Electron Device Engineering Council (JEDEC), we have declared several internally developed patents relevant to FLASH and DRAM memory standards. Conversant's engineers now work with several technical standards organizations and specifications. In cellular, radio-frequency, and other communications technologies, we have experts in GSM, CDMA, UMTS™ and LTE™ cellular standards, Wi-Fi, WiMAX, and NFC. Our technical staff in the past has participated in 3GPP™ standard-setting meetings, and we look forward to actively contributing to ETSI's ongoing standard-setting research and development."
