The Montréal Pride parade draws great enthusiasm from many public figures

MONTREAL, Aug. 16, 2013 /CNW Telbec/ - Montréal Pride will welcome many public figures to a press briefing that will be held on Sunday, August 18, at 11:45 am at the garden of the Canadian Centre for Architecture on René-Lévesque Boulevard West. A significant number of important public figures, including Québec Premier Pauline Marois, have accepted the invitation to join with the lesbian, gay, bisexual and transgender (LGBT) communities for what is expected to be the largest parade in the past 10 years.

	Débarcadère area: Please note that René-Lévesque Boulevard is closed from 8:45 am between Guy and Lambert-Closse. Access to vehicules is very limited and acces will be from Atwater towards east. No vehicule can park by the garden and need to leave the set-up zone.

The Pride parade will begin on Sunday, August 18, at 1 pm on René-Lévesque, corner Guy, and will proceed east, ending at Sanguinet.

As of August 16, politicians from all levels of government have confirmed their presence to walk alongside Montreal Pride and the LGBT community.

From the provincial level, Pauline Marois, Premier of Québec, accompanied by Pascal Bérubé, Daniel Breton, Diane De Courcy, Sylvain Gaudreault, Martine Ouellet, Sylvain Pagé, Bertrand St-Arnaud, Mathieu Traversy and Élaine Zakaïb will represent the Parti québécois. Marguerite Blais, Philippe Couillard, Jean Rousselle, Christine St-Picerre, Lise Thériault and Kathleen Weil will represent the Québec Liberal Party. François Bonnardel, Daniel Ratthé and Nathalie Roy will represent the Coallition avenir Québec while Françoise David will represent Québec solidaire.

From the federal level, Alexandre Boulerice, Marjolaine Boutin-Sweet, Hélène Leblanc, Thomas J. Mulcair and Ève Péclet will represent the New Democratic Party while Stéphane Dion, Marc Garneau and Justin Trudeau will represent Liberal Party of Canada.

Finally, from the municipal level, Mr. Laurent Blanchard, mayor of Montréal, will be joined by Richard Bergeron, François William Croteau, Érika Duchesne, Marc-André Gadoury, Peter McQueen and Émilie Thuillier, elected officials for Projet Montréal, Véronique Fournier, Louise Harel, Réal Ménard and François Robillard, elected officials for Vision Montréal, Chantal Rouleau, elected official for Équipe Denis Coderre pour Montréal and independent councillors Jocelyn Ann Campbell, Richard Deschamps, Sammy Forcillo, Helen Fotopulos, Christian G. Dubois, Pierre Mainville and Lili-Anne Tremblay.

Many mayoral candidates will also be present.
