CALGARY, Jan. 7, 2017 /CNW/ - The Alberta Prosperity Fund today announced that the previously scheduled visit by Trump Campaign Senior Advisor, Kellyanne Conway has been cancelled.
"I can tell you that Ms. Conway's office and our own have tried every option at our disposal to make this work and, unfortunately, a visit is just not possible at this time," said Barry McNamar, President and Founder of the Alberta Prosperity Fund.
The Fund's announcement late last year that a visit from Ms. Conway was pending was met with a groundswell of support from Canadian business leaders keen to show their support for what is widely viewed as a business and jobs friendly administration.
"Naturally we are disappointed," said Heather Forsyth, Chair of the Fund. "Canadians were keen to hear about the Trump Campaign's path to victory and to simply show support for a new free enterprise administration."
The event sold out in days with Albertans from across the province lighting up the Fund's email and phone lines seeking to hear from the architect of Donald Trump's victorious presidential campaign and the first woman to run a successful US Presidential bid.
The visit has not been rescheduled at this time and refunds for all ticket purchases are being processed.
