Corus Entertainment Inc. Announces Closing of Secondary Offering of Class B Non-Voting Participating Shares

TORONTO, May 31, 2019 /CNW/ - Corus Entertainment Inc. ("Corus" or the "Company") (TSX: CJR.B) announced today the closing of the secondary offering (the "Offering") of 80,630,383 Class B non-voting participating shares ("Class B Shares") of Corus by Shaw Communications Inc. (the "Selling Shareholder") for total gross proceeds to the Selling Shareholder of $548,286,604. The Company will not receive any of the proceeds from the Offering.
As a result of the Offering, the Selling Shareholder does not own, control or direct any Class B Shares of Corus. The Selling Shareholder does not own, control or direct any Class A voting participating shares of Corus.
The Offering was made through a syndicate of underwriters led by TD Securities Inc.and including CIBC World Markets Inc., RBC Dominion Securities Inc., Scotia Capital Inc., National Bank Financial Inc., BMO Nesbitt Burns Inc., Desjardins Securities Inc., AltaCorp Capital Inc., Barclays Capital Canada Inc., Canaccord Genuity Corp., Cormark Securities Inc., MUFG Securities (Canada), Ltd. and Raymond James Ltd.
