CounterPath Signs Software License and Distribution Agreement with NTT Software
Agreement uses CounterPath's Bria softphone applications and Client Configuration Server to extend NTT Software's reach into Japanese enterprises, including telecommuters, business travelers and mobile workers
VANCOUVER, Oct. 31, 2012 /CNW/ - CounterPath (NASDAQ: CPAH) (TSX: CCV) today announced a strategic license royalty agreement with NTT (Nippon Telegraph and Telephone) Software Corporation that will enable Japanese enterprises to extend unified communications (UC) and fixed-mobile convergence (FMC) services to their customers' mobile workers, telecommuters and business travelers. The integration of both CounterPath's Bria mobile and Client Configuration Server (CCS) provides enterprises with new options for managing their communications spending while maximizing employee productivity and responsiveness.
Under the agreement, NTT Software Corporation will leverage the award-winning Bria mobile softphone applications with the Client Configuration Server to enable enterprise customers to extend VoIP and IP PBX services to their existing mobile devices. This solution allows employees to bring their own devices (BYOD) and leverage Bria's platform diversity to make services available across the world's most widely used mobile smartphone platforms.
Bria uses industry standards and proven multimedia technology to provide high-quality voice calls over 3G, 4G and Wi-Fi. Bria's ability to switch between mobile and Wi-Fi data networks also enables least-cost routing, giving enterprise customers new options for managing their telecom spending.
