L'Essence de Courvoisier will be the enduring legacy for retired Master Blender Jean-Marc Olivier
TORONTO, Aug. 26 /CNW/ - Courvoisier, one of the world's leading cognac houses, has launched a new addition to its collection of luxury cognacs, L'Essence de Courvoisier. Following years of exploration to create the perfect blend, L'Essence de Courvoisier will be the jewel of Courvoisier's already illustrious line. Only 50 bottles of L'Essence de Courvoisier will now be sold in select liquor stores and on-premise accounts Canada-wide at an approximate retail price of $3,200 per bottle.
This new cognac embodies Courvoisier's philosophy of fusing the traditions of a centuries old cognac house with its innovative approach. The L'Essence de Courvoisier blend consists of special reserves from the early 20th century offering depth and harmony to L'Essence de Courvoisier - the era that introduced its highly acclaimed and innovative Napoleon cognac. These reserves are complemented with 'eaux de vie' from the later 20th century - marking innovations in distillation and barrel-making techniques.
Courvoisier has partnered with leading French crystal house, Baccarat, to create a stunning crystal decanter, with both teams working tirelessly to ensure the finished product is as appealing in appearance as it is in taste. Each decanter is handmade to achieve its dazzling shape, and is individually numbered adding to its exclusivity. This elegant piece, created by the highly skilled craftsmen at Baccarat features a brilliantly conceived decanter suspended in a timeless and elegant frame, inspired by the signature Courvoisier teardrop silhouette.
Courvoisier's association with Napoleon is renowned, and his pioneering outlook still influences the cognac house today. The crystal stopper on the decanter is inspired by the legend of Napoleon's ten signet rings, which were bestowed upon favoured military commanders who had committed noble acts.
