QUÉBEC, April 21, 2020 /CNW Telbec/ - As of now, businesses among priority services and activities can publish information regarding their urgent labour needs. Following a rapid review, the information will be posted in a new section of the website Québec.ca. The Minister of Labour, Employment and Social Solidarity and Minister Responsible for the Mauricie Region, Jean Boulet, announced the creation of this transitional platform as a temporary solution for swiftly addressing the recruitment needs of employers, who are facing new challenges caused by the current COVID-19 pandemic.
The goal is to assist priority businesses in urgent need of workers. The free platform will provide such businesses with a fast and easy way to post positions they need filled. A more comprehensive, permanent platform will be unveiled in the next few weeks. It will replace the current placement system available on the website of Emploi-Québec, which was already being overhauled, in particular because it cannot meet the high demand.
Online at Québec.ca
The transitional platform is accessible on the website Québec.ca. Job offers are posted by region and can also be searched by keyword. This service is available to priority businesses whose activities are on the list provided on the Quebec.ca website, such as businesses in the food industry, trucking businesses and pharmacies.
Quote:
"Several priority businesses are in desperate need of workers to meet an overwhelming demand. We must support them. That is why we created this platform to address their urgent labour needs. The people in my department are also on hand to support employers and facilitate the hiring of workers. I encourage people to help these businesses out. I am convinced that this simple tool will benefit businesses as well as keep essential economic activities going."
Jean Boulet, Minister of Labour, Employment and Social Solidarity and Minister Responsible for the Mauricie Region
