COVID-19 Pandemic - The government presents its daily update

QUÉBEC CITY, Sept. 6, 2022 /CNW Telbec/ - The most recent data on the evolution of COVID-19, in the last 24 hours, in Québec show:

• 613 new cases, bringing the total number of people infected to 1,181,744*;
• 3,189 health care workers absent for COVID-related reasons (preventive withdrawal, isolation, awaiting results, etc.);
• 1,557 hospitalizations, including 531 due to COVID-19, for a decrease of 124 compared to the previous day;
• 118 new entries,
• 242 new discharges;
• 34 people in intensive care, including 19 due to COVID-19, for an increase of 1 compared to the previous day;
• 8 new entries,
• 7 new discharges;
• 8,786 samples conducted on September 4;
• 284,525 self-declared rapid tests so far, including 238,356 positive: 162 declared for yesterday, including 130 positive.

Due to technical issues, death data is not available today. However, the situation will return to normal tomorrow.

*Note that the number of cases listed is not representative of the situation since access to screening centres is restricted to priority clienteles.

Vaccination

• 2,581 doses administered are added, for a cumulative total of 20,808,154 doses received by Quebecers.

To limit the spread of the coronavirus as much as possible, it is important to follow basic preventive measures such as hand washing, physical distancing, wearing a face covering and following the instructions in effect.
