COVID-19 Pandemic - The government presents its daily update

QUÉBEC CITY,  Jan. 19, 2022  /CNW Telbec/ -The most recent data on the evolution of COVID-19, in the last 24 hours, in Québec show:

• 6,123 new cases, bringing the total number of people infected to 812,419*;
• 88 new deaths, for a total of 12,541 deaths;
• 3,425 hospitalizations, for an increase of 8 compared to the previous day;
• 359 new entries,
• 351 new discharges;
• 285 people in intensive care, for a decrease of 4 compared to the previous day;
• 42 new entries,
• 46 new discharges;
• 41,202 samples conducted on January 17.

*Note that the number of cases listed is not representative of the situation since access to screening centres is restricted to priority clienteles.

Vaccination

• 114,816 doses administered are added, that is 110,035 doses in the last 24 hours and 4,781 doses before January 18, for a total of 16,691,223 doses administered in Québec. Outside Québec, a total of 262,689 doses were administered, for a cumulative total of 16,953,912 doses received by Quebecers.

To limit the spread of the coronavirus as much as possible, it is important to follow basic preventive measures such as hand washing, physical distancing, wearing a face covering and following the instructions in effect.
