COVID-19 Pandemic - The government presents its daily update

QUÉBEC CITY, Jan. 11, 2022 /CNW Telbec/ - The most recent data on the evolution of COVID-19, in the last 24 hours, in Québec show:

• 8,710 new cases, bringing the total number of people infected to 758,576*;
• 62 new deaths, for a total of 12,028 deaths;
• 2,742 hospitalizations, for an increase of 188 compared to the previous day;
• 433 new entries,
• 245 new discharges;
• 255 people in intensive care, for an increase of 7 compared to the previous day;
• 45 new entries,
• 38 new discharges;
• 31,901 samples conducted on January 9.

* Note that the number of cases listed is not representative of the situation since access to screening centres is restricted to priority clienteles.

Vaccination

• 100,758 doses administered are added, that is 97,295 doses in the last 24 hours and 3,463 doses before January 10, for a total of 15,853,252 doses administered in Québec. Outside Québec, a total of 255,780 doses were administered, for a cumulative total of 16,109,032 doses received by Quebecers.

To limit the spread of the coronavirus as much as possible, it is important to follow basic preventive measures such as hand washing, physical distancing, wearing a face covering and following the instructions in effect.
